Technique

Without good Technique it is not possible to create the music in you head.

Many people get infatuated with only technique to the detriment of everything else. Good technique is vital, but only in conjunction with Musical Knowledge, A good Ear and a good sense of Rhythm.
Technique should have a purpose and should be practiced in tandem with everything else.

I call the graph below the “Triangle of Creativity”. You can have one of these areas working well and not so much in the other areas, but your ability will be stunted if you do not pay attention to all three areas!

So, what should we cover in Technique? This is a vast area that covers Scales, Finger Dexterity, Embellishments, Rhythm and much more. All in tandem with the other points of the Triangle shown above.
